How about The Dictionary of Lost Words? It's a new one by Pip Williams. It's a moving story about a girl who grows up in the making of the Oxford English Dictionary.

I have not been able to find ANYONE who has read The Four Kingdoms and Beyond the Four Kingdoms series by Melanie Cellier, please tell me you have?.... If not, read them! They are soooo good! They are retellings of classic and lesser-known fairy tales, and each book has a princess as the main character who faces difficulties but always pulls through and finds her Prince Charming.

Have you read "The Diary of a Young Girl" by Anne Frank?
If you haven't read it yet, and especially if you are a teen, then I totally recommend you to try it out. Some parts are sad, but the quality of writing is great.
