Here's an older comedy skit I heard, by Brian Regan:
Teacher: Brain, what's a plural?
Brian: A what?
Teacher: Like weekends and holidays. When do you put a "s", Brain?
Brian: *angrily" LIKE WEEKENDS AND HOLDIAYS
Teacher: Okay, Brian.
(And so, she turns to this kid who knows everything, Erwin.)

Erwin: Oxen. I saw... a herd of oxen.
