KnightStar I think it was just the certain position the character was in, and the neck is actually pretty regular size if you look at a normal human neck.

Queeny Thanks! And FH, I do agree, the shoulders are a bit short looking back, but the neck is actually proportionate. I'm study the human bone structure and I learned that the neck begins where the jaw curves. If you look at your own neck, and you can feel your neck by pressing you hands on the sides of it and feeling around. Especially if you look at a side view, you can really see how thick necks need to be in real life in order to support that person's head :)
