Accidentia Chapter 2, Vivi's POV

By GemHeart (KN, Fiction Club): Chapter Two:

Viviane's POV
I dreaded getting up for school that morning. I was always getting hassled by kids older than me until they got a fist right between the eyes, but even then they'd make fun of me and insult my intelligence. My parents always said that if I just paid attention in school that I would be making straight A's and get into Yale, yet I was scraping by with C's.
I was an Advanced Placement kid. I was whizzing by in 6th grade and above, so my teacher had me doing AP worksheets while she was teaching the rest of the class. Still, I had insisted to my parents that I wanted to still be a 6th grade student, so I could with kids my own age, but they wanted me in classes with 17 year olds. We came to the conclusion that my teacher, Mr. Y, would give me the harder work while being in the classroom setting I wanted. That's the privilege of being the granddaughter of the principal.
I got up that morning feeling rather grumpy. I pulled on a sweater, jeans, and combat boots. I dressed pretty emoish, and my dark brown shoulder-length hair added to that image. Once I was out the door, I made sure I had my backpack and my books, as well as the summer homework about Trig.
When I reached the classroom, Mr. Y greeted me cheerily, taking my homework. I was a little late, but he didn't mind. "Go grab a seat," he said. "It'll be yours for the year." The only one empty was near the back, close to the window.
As soon as I sat down, a few girls and boys began talking. A huge noise erupted from somewhere in the room, and Mr. Y turned about.
"Stupid heater," he said. "Give me a second, kids." He walked from the room, pointing at me. "You're in charge while I'm gone, Viviane." He smiled, and I walked up to his desk and sat down.
"How was your summer?" I asked everyone.
Immediately people started talking. Gary had went to camp, Lucy had been to an uncle's, and Vick had decided she would stay home. A few went on vacation, one even went to visit his rich aunt up in D.C. My summer wasn't as eventful, so I told them so.
"I mostly just studied." I said.
"Bookworm!" shouted one. Supposed to be a threat, I guess, but these 6th graders had some of the cleanest mouths I knew. No swearing in Mr. Y's classroom.
I laughed and stood up. Immediately, something that looked like a dark wave, travelling beneath the floor, started spreading quickly from under my feet. It hit the first row of students, then the next, and the next. It even traveled over to Mr. Y as he came in, and as it hit everyone, a terrible thing happened.
They began wilting like flowers. Skin dropped off and shriveled, and eyes rolled back until they were nothing but bony body bags. I looked around, alarmed, until I realized it had happened again.
My ability to rot away people just by touching them. But this was next level. I had discovered this when I was 6, and I had accidently killed the family cat by holding her too long. No one saw me kill her, and even the vet said it was a natural death: but I knew better. At first, it only worked on animals, but then it evolved into if I was near a person too long. Some people weren't affected, but many were. But this?
I had killed an either classroom of children without lifting a finger...

A girl rushed into the classroom, turning and locking it hastily. About what sounded like 4 pairs of fists pounded on the doors. The girl, who was slightly taller than me, had her tawny hair hoisted up in a high ponytail. She was wearing a teal tank top, jeans, white high-top Converse, and a terrified expression.
She had noticed.
All around me, the children lay on their desks, dead.

Ilia’s POV

“Ilia! Come on, Time for school! It’s the first day of eighth grade, and you don’t want to be late!” I was jostled awake by the sound of my mother’s voice. I groaned, and rolled over. My mother, not amused, marched over to my bed with her hands on her hips. “Ilia! You’re going to be late! Again! Get dressed, we have to leave in fifteen minutes!” She stood there, waiting for me to get out of bed. Like the obnoxious child that I was, I stayed in bed, not moving. Let me stay in bed. I’d rather miss school than wake up. My mother, knowing what she had to do because we’d gone through this routine last year in seventh grade, grabbed my hand and dragged me out of bed.

I groaned again, and stumbled towards my closet, jerking open the door and closing it behind me. My mother, smiling at her accomplishment, was still in my room when I strutted out in a teal tank top, ripped jeans, white converse high tops, and my hair in its signature high ponytail with a teal scrunchie. Glad I was finally ready for school, she led me out the the door of my room.

I grabbed my backpack and lunch money, made a face at myself in the hallway mirror, and ran to the car. After a ten-minute drive, we arrived at school. I rushed inside, slipping into an empty seat with a minute to spare.

Alright, class, we’re going to start unpacking right now.” said a tall dark-haired lady. “Take out your summer homework and put it in this blue bucket right here.”

A mad scramble followed, mainly around the bucket Ms. Daniels was pointing to. I walked up after everyone else sat down, saving myself a lot of walking around and avoiding getting tripped, or elbowed in the stomach. I’m smart like that.

We put all our extra school supplies in a closet in the back of the room. When everyone was unpacked, Ms. Daniels walked to the front of the room and took a stack of papers from her desk. She passed them out to our rows, and I studied mine. It was a schedule.

“Class, this is your schedule for what class you’re taking in each period. I hope you will keep these where they are easily accessible, until you get the flow of things. Maybe keep it in your binder, or a homework folder, or somewhere its not apt to get lost.’ She glared at a particularly irresponsible boy who had just shoved his paper in his desk.

School went on in this fashion. Ms. Daniels taught History and Science. At recess, I sat with a group of girls that looked like they were the popular group in this class. It was important for me to get on their good side if I ever wanted to be popular this year.

But then I saw how mean they were. Their matching clean white heels hurt my eyes as they walked down the hallway towards the water fountain. I saw them push people out of the way as they made room for the squad of four walk down the hallway side-by-side in a line.

They got to the water fountain. A seventh grader was there, drinking water. One of the nastiest of the squad shoved her out of the way. She fell, and broke her head on the pavement. It gushed blood, staining the ground a rich crimson. That made me mad. That made me angry. That made me infuriated. I wished the water fountain would explode with water in their faces.

It did.

The girls, horrified, turned to look at me. They were so angry, they looked like they would turn into monsters.

They did.

I ran down the hallway, trying to find a room with a lock on the door. The four monsters were still chasing me, gaining on me. I finally found a room with a lock on the door. Bursting in, I turned around and locked the door behind me. I leaned against the door, eyes closed, panting. Then I noticed who was in the room.

A girl was standing in the middle of the room. She looked like a sixth-grader. She was about an inch shorter than me. She was wearing a light brown sweatshirt, black jeans, and combat boots, with her short, dark brown hair barely grazing her shoulders.

She stared at me.

I stared back.

For all around her, was about twenty decayed children.

I screamed, then everything went black.

My 'book' (highschool drama) is getting more attention then I thought `_` Wow...I got so many comments about how it was interesting and some about how annoying my main character was, or how her descriptions were and that needed more updates. I feel good and happy when I get a comment like that cuz someone had enough audacity to say my character was annoying but intriguing. I love this. I really do. And I also intended her to be annoying so all the better!! LOL this is good...really good....

Chapter Three by ArtistGirl

Alexa looked around. She was in a vast field, surrounded by animals, strange animals, that she had never seen before. She looked around, naming them one by one. A cross between an elephant and a pig… the elepig. A rabbit with a long neck and tongue… a girrabbit. A horse-like lion… a liorse. They were extremely gentle. They were all gathered around something. Alexa went forward to take a look.

As she came forward, the animals all moved away. Alexa discovered they were all around a watering hole. The water was crystal clear, and clean enough to drink. She looked into the sparkling water. As if in a trance, her hand went out and touched the surface of the water. She wrote a word on it in a language she later realized she didn’t know.

The water rippled, and the surface became a mirror. Surprised, she looked into the mirror and realized she was different. Her normally frizzy dull brown hair was now perfectly straight, shiny, longer, and the color of chocolate. Her lips were a light red, and on her light brown skin, her cheeks flushed faintly with a hint of pink.

She felt taller, and more mature. She was now wearing a teal sleeveless dress that ended just above her knees, with her hair down and pulled back with a teal headband, and thin, light brown shoes. “I look… different.’ she told herself. ‘I look like the person I’ve always scorned, called ‘a girly girl’… but I feel… better. More free. Like I was… I was made to live here.”

In the picture of herself, Alexa saw something in the background she was sure wasn’t there before. A forest. Not a regular, ordinary one. It was practically glowing in the sunlight. Then Alexa realized she was subconsciously walking towards it.

‘Why am I going here?’ she thought to herself. She thought about it for a moment. ‘Well, I don’t have anywhere to go anyway, so I might as well go there than anywhere.’ She continued walking towards the forest.
__________________________________________________________________________

As Alexa arrived in the forest, the first thing she noticed was the smell. Not that it was bad. Quite the opposite. It smelled like… happiness. Something Alexa hadn’t experienced for a while. A sign said “Welcome to the Rune Forest.”
Alexa walked farther into the wood. The trees each had some sort of symbol on them. A golden mist hung about the air, filtering the sunlight so it looked almost magical. Or maybe it was. She couldn’t tell. ‘I don’t want this dream to end.’ Alexa whispered to herself. ‘Or maybe I died, and this is Heaven. Is it? Could it be?’ She kept walking.

As she came to an open area in the Rune Forest, she saw a bag holding pair of jeans and a red sweater. The kind of things they had worn about forty years ago. Confused, she walked farther. Then she saw a girl’s figure, wearing a light yellow dress and navy blue tights. She was sitting down with her elbows propped on her knees, head in her hands, and staring into space. Alexa approached her.
“Hello” she said.

Chapter Two: LocaNovis
(First Person [Lilac]) The Next Chapter will be in second person.

1983

I’m Lilac, I’m 14 and I’m from Florida.

It was lazy afternoon, Summer skies and a record playing in the back of my head as it buzzed like the bee’s on a wild afternoon. I looked out of my glass window in boredom, the sun setting and pink skies ahead. My elbows were on my desk, and dark wooden desk. The tall lamp sitting drearily near my desk switched on and off, catching my attention quick enough.
I sighed, hands on my pale face, lifting my cheeks, making them seem chubbier from the parts of my face showing. Then, I released them by standing up, looking around my yellow obscure room with one poster. My bed was a twin sized bed, and my room was more of a slim fitted one for sure. I walked outside of my door, feeling the same wood texture I had before. My elbows were bruised and red from rubbing on my desk for so long.
As I walked out of my room, it hit me.
What is the best place to spend my lonely hours? I asked myself, looking around and finger on my chin. I remembered, the old well near my family’s farm. It was dry, that’s what my parents said, but every now and then I would drop a coin or whatever I could find on the earthy ground and drop it down. I would always listen to it plumped, making a dripping noise afterwards.
I then quickly ran through the tall grass, brushing on my exposed legs. I was wearing blue shorts that stopped when it hit my knees and a light-yellow shirt too. It was an average look you could say, modern and ‘cool’. I had brought a long—even though the well near the Oakland Gardens weren’t far—a light sweater and extra pair of mom jeans, and don’t forget water for the short hike.
It was a red sweater, sort of scruffy and plain. Meanwhile, I tried to wear what was in style. The mom jeans and sweater. I was proud to live in America, it was a fine place to be in with such style.
When I found the well, it was made of bricks and had climbers growing all over it. Not to mention the thorns, and the stickers that had seemed to appear all over my clothes once I came out of the tall grass, out of the beautiful woods with lofty, green leaved trees. It looked on the ground, snatching up a few sticks that laid near my feet that had an old pair of tennis shoes on.
The well was rather dirty, as expected. It was far from new, mounds of dirt and mud-like substances on it, bugs crawling all over the cracks and chips on the stones that seemed like they were built together. It was only seconds before I decided to drop the sticks down, expecting to hear them hit a rock or have the same watery affect. Instead, all I heard were light, faint whispers come from the well. I looked over, nothing but pure darkness.
I scrunched my eyes, trying to enhance my view but I still saw nothing.
“Hello?” I said, I could hear my shrilled voice come back at me, echoing and then disappearing. My glasses started to slip off my oily nose, I could feel them slightly dangle from my face, struggling to stay on. I didn’t mind though, this always happened and never once fell off-
And I spoke too soon. My glasses slipped off in the abyss, sinking in the shadows. My eyes were wide open, gazed at what just happened. My hands were on the ‘railing’, more like the edge of it, and I held on to the moss so tightly I could feel my hand almost absorb it. I then went to a plan to get it back, looking deep in the darkness, the seeing a slight light peek out.
At some point, my feet were floppy, and my stomach was squished by the stone and pressure. My hands were looking to reach it, trying to find the near end. It was cold and damp, as I expected, but the deeper I went I felt this warm breeze fly over me as a rose petal flew from it.
Soon enough, I could feel myself turning backwards, falling into the darkness to find everything swooping around. My body was everywhere, sitting and turning as high winds brushed against my face, my hair sometimes being lifted, then high pressure letting it down. Confusion wondered me, as this had continued for quiet awhile. I would be lying if I saw I wasn’t frightened—for what was down there must have been huge something waiting for it’s prey.

Then, I felt my hair being caught by something. I picked myself up, leaves in my hair as I noticed I was in a forest of some sort. I didn’t recognize it, it had more life as birds squeaked and some chirped beautifully, creating a harmony as one side was creating a dreadful racket. One hand was on the soft, moist grand on other was supporting my body weight as much as it could. I laid there, looking around in fear.

Was this heaven?

I asked myself, gulping and standing up, brushing everything off. I noticed my bag right next to me, perfectly positioned with all my stuff ive packed before. I looked down at myself, I felt an inch taller, like I was older. I felt like I had matured in the matter of seconds. I had a silver watch wrapped around my wrist telling the time, it was 2:00 PM. But it was 3:00 earlier, my clock must have been wrong? Questions fluttered my mind as my heart raced. Where was I?

Thanks for reading! I can't space so sorry, the spaced version will be on KT

Loca Novis: a co-op by Knight Star and ArtistGirl

Chapter One by ArtistGirl

The girl lay in the middle of the field. She was breathing. She was alive. But she was not awake. She hadn’t been awake for a long time. A whole year. She had been in a coma-like sleep. Predators came and sniff her. But they did not eat her. For she was encased in a bubble of water. Made by herself to protect herself. She was sleeping forever. This had happened to many before her. But few survived. They had gone out of their minds.

Teleportation can do that to people.
_________________________________________________________________________

Alexa opened her eyes. She checked the alarm clock by her bed. 5:53. Time to wake up. She forced herself to get out of bed. As she looked in the mirror and saw her ordinary face, with its tangled brown hair and tan skin, she told herself, ‘Just another ordinary day in my same old ordinary life.’ . Maybe the beginning of the day was ordinary, but as the day went by, Alexa realized that there could hardly be anything less ordinary.

The beginning of the school day went along normally. Until it got to recess.

A group of girls was standing around, laughing and having four different conversations..
“Alexa, do you wanna trade a sparkly pink gel pen for this metallic teal?”
“Josie, look over there. Do you think that guy is cute?”
“Cathy, do you want to go to the mall on Saturday?”
“Bella, listen to this new album.”

Suddenly, the ground began to shake. “EARTHQUAKE!” came a yell from a crazed boy running in circles.

“An earthquake?”
“In Virginia?”
“I don’t think so.”

Alexa thought in a second. ‘Not possible. Not in Virginia. There’s an earthquake. SAVE YOURSELF, ALEXA!’

A large crack appeared across the blacktop. It widened and spread farther until it got to Alexa’s feet. She tried to steady herself. She failed, and plummeted in.
__________________________________________________________________________

The girl opened her eyes. She was inside a huge bubble of water. ‘How did this get around me? She asked herself. ‘And who am I?’

Then her memory flooded back to her. “Alexa. My name is Alexa Ford. I am fifteen. I have a giant bubble of water around me. I am trying my best to not freak out. I am NOT SUCCEEDING!!!’

She raised her hand and the water bubble disappeared, leaving Alexa shocked. ‘What’s wrong with me? Why can I do that- and how? Have I gone CRAZY? What time is it now? I must’ve missed dinner.’ She checked her watch. ‘No… it can’t be… I haven’t just missed dinner! I… I’ve missed a whole year of dinners. I’m sixteen. I’m somewhere in a strange field, and I have no freakin’ idea WHAT’S HAPPENING TO ME!?!?!?!?!'

Hey Aristgirl, by the way, I can't wait for our co-op, but we should def consider the name first (: I'm thinking of "Luoghi strani" which translated means "Strange Places". We can do the English version or Italian, your choice.
