WARNING: I'm gonna rant a bit.
So Nickelodeon has announced SpongeBob SquarePants as a member of the LGBTQ+ community. And people are suspecting that #SpongeBobIsGay (the hashtag went viral on social media).
I can remember that when I was younger, SpongeBob SquarePants was one of my most favourite shows. I used to sit in front of the TV every evening to watch SpongeBob on Nickelodeon; and I hardly missed an episode. He made my childhood happier. 
I don't watch it anymore though.
Anyways, let's get back to the topic now: I won't care much if he is gay. Because as a kid, I had no idea what does LGBTQ+ mean. Naturally, I didn't notice the pride gestures SpongeBob made. Kids don't even notice, because most of them don't know. These things just go over their heads. Tell me, do you expect a 6-year-old to know what does being gay mean? There are exceptions, of course, but I'm not talking about those. I think inserting sexuality in a kids' show is NOT the right thing to do, mainly because many parents won't approve. One thing : it's just my personal opinion. If you get offended, I'm sorry.

lunamoonlight Honestly, I don't care what he is, and yeah, kids who watch the show won't know what they means or the signals for it. I would kinda rather they not bring it into the show, and while they have had clues, they never outright said it in the show, only outside of it.
GemHeart Yeah, I agree. I still watch it cuz my sibs enjoy it. It’s just weird adding that. Spongebob is a kids show and if they added it to a teenager show it’d be different (well, in terms of “audience will get it” thing). So.

Eye tutorial!!
1. Draw your sketch. This part is fairly easy.
2. Fill in your base colors.
3. Change your line art color. To do this, I selected "Alpha lock" on my sketch layer and colored.
4. Add a gradient and mix the colors. I used the wet watercolor brush to blend the colors.
5. Blur the edge of the eye. Again, for this I used the watercolor brush.
6. Add a few tiny colorful dots around the eye. I used the splatter and stipple pen for this.
7. Add highlights. To do this, make a new layer above your coloring layers and set the blending mode to add. I used the pencil brush (set at 50% opacity) and made a large bubble at the bottom of the eye, then make some tinier dots around the pupil. I also painted some skin around the eye.
