#DrawingTips Part 3: Protection Perfection

1. Always sign your art. It doesn’t matter if it’s your username, your nickname, or a random word- you just have to add it to the side of your art. It lets viewers know which artist did it by just looking at the art.

1 1/2. Choose a signature that is special and is consistent. Sign it the same way each time. You can add it at the bottom of an art piece, on the side of the art, across of the art as a watermark (here’s a link of how to create a watermark: https://hubpages.com/art/gimp-watermark), or add it on the art. I consider rather the third or fourth safest.

2. Post on safe websites, such as this one. Not many people have access to this site unless they sign up, so they can’t access (and steal) your art! Don’t post on certain websites such as FaceBook, DeviantArt, etc, unless you’ve secured your art. Several FNAF artists, such as Polebear, have fallen victim to “art thieves” and stopped sharing/posting art.

3. Only use others’ art for personal purposes, such as a wallpaper. Ask their premission for other things such as adding their art to a YouTube video, etc.

#DrawingTips Part 2

1. Don’t overstuff. Don’t add too many things into a picture, or it’ll look VERY messy, especially if you add color.

2. Draw with the picture established in your mind. Make sure you know what you wanna draw, because if you don’t, then your picture won’t turn out the way you want.

3. Add lotsa shine! Especially to eyes, if you’re doing anime.

4. For hair, make it lively. If you don’t, it won’t look realistic, and you NEVA want that!

5. Ask others for help. In Japan, young manga artists learn from a “Sensei” or “Senpai” who teaches them. (In a sentence, “Gem-Senpai gives me tips in drawing!”)

6. Be consistent. Without consistency, you’ll never learn. So try to draw everyday, no matter if it’s on your homework (make sure to draw lightly and ERASE it! You don’t want Teacher-sama [sama is a level of respect in the Jap. Honorifics system] to catch you!), your notepad, or the dirt outside (eh, maybe not that...)!

7. Post your art and share it! It helps because you get feedback (from artists who tell you what you could do to make it better), and positive encouragement (from fans). DEAR KIDZNETTERS:
I will possibly be leaving KidzNet. Probably not permantly, but for a little while (months.)... I hope I’m able to return, but I’m taking caution. I’ll probably stay on for a few more weeks (until summer break starts?).
It’s not because of you guys. I love y’all and I’d never do it to get your goat or anything! It’s because of school. If I don’t do well on math this year (I finished it, but Mum is waiting for my test scores from March. If I don’t do well, I have to do summer work all summer and I won’t get my device during that time...)
Anyway, I love y’all and I consider y’all my best friends. If I do fail, I’ll be able to return in a year.
Thank you guys for all you’ve done. You’ve encouraged me, and everything possible. Thanks for looking at my art and stories and loving it. See y’all, I hope, but I’m pretty positive I’ll be able to come back, but I’m making sure I’m preparing for the worst possible outcome.

#DrawingTips Part One
(To those who want to learn how to draw better, I’m making this hashtag.)
1) Learn from others. Copy techniques until you can use your own.

2) Make fan art! It doesn’t put pressure on you to think up your own story to go with the art. For example, using FNAF as my fandom and drawing style, I can learn how to draw and eventually branch out and do my own thing.

2 1/2) Choose your drawing fandom wisely. This doesn’t mean you have to abandon your current fandom because you can’t draw it (who would do that?). Instead, find parts of that fandom you can draw. Want to learn how to draw animals? How does the fandom and the fandom’s artists draw it? Itll help!

3) Shade! I’ve noticed that some of y’all don’t shade your drawings, but there’s nothing wrong with that. But how do you do it? Place light grey areas where places overlap. Look at some of my art (The GH Club) and you’ll see what I mean. I find no problem with y’all learning from my art, just don’t steal it without permission.

4) Think back to your character’s backstory. It’ll help you draw pics of her or him.

5) Outline. Not everyone does this, but I do to establish a sense of a finished piece. You can add squares behind characters and fill it in to establish a sense of background.

5) Be yourself. Draw what you want, not what others tell you to. If they ask, sure! People like it when you draw things for them like a happy birthday pic. But always ask permission when drawing characters of someone else’s.

6) Don’t fret and try new things. You’re not gonna do well the first time. It took me many months to get up to my level, but I am a fast learner. Try out new ways of drawing things once your current style is like second nature.
