I just looked in the, 'Done,' section of Google Classroom.
Turns out I've completed over 294 assignments.
2/3 of those assignments are stuff I really won't need in the future, such as plate movement (I'm not planning on becoming a geologist) and King Tut's tomb (Not planning on becoming a historian, either).
When are we going to learn how to DO TAXES.

lunamoonlight IKR. If we're gonna have math class, can it be something actually useful? Not '(x – 2) / 4 – (3x + 5) / 7 = – 3, what is x?' Yes, cause everyone is constantly using a combination of math and letters to figure out how many oranges they should get. My teacher gave up on real world examples.

DukeSilver Uhh... I know, right, Luna? You should see the ridiculous Algebra I'm doing right now. Everyone always talks about how you're going to use it later. I think, "Yeah, sure, but when? Oh, that's right: how could I forget? I've still got several more years of teachers torturing my poor brain with things like translating a absolute value expression to graphs and verbal models and all the other crap that they for some reason think is interesting." Honestly, sometimes (almost unbelievably!) think that I might have something better to do with myself than rewrite an absolute value inequality expression, solve the two halves, somehow jam them together, and then graph it. Or figuring out how to graph some other crazy expression on a regular graph. (Yeah, can you believe it?)

Anonymous I feel like it's only important if you want to pursue a career as a mathmatican or scientist, and who honestly will.
DukeSilver But could you please give examples? I've been trying to figure out why, but all I can come up with is that you use it in other math classes. I can't really figure out what you use it for beyond that.
