I am watching a video by an artist called LavenderTown on YT. Great art. She is basically talking about different stages artists go through. Ima verify these-
1. The How-To Phase. When you go to dozens of how-to books and tutorials to learn art.
Well, for me i never really learned from those, but that is just because i learned from looking at anime characters and looking at pictures i liked and copying them. Im sure a lot of people have learned from how-to books though.
2. The OC Machine. When you start making millions of original characters.
Heh, hehe... guilty. Arwyn, Arwryn, Isabell, Kera, Sakura, Akira, Lilith, Luna, Scarlet, Jessica, Amy, Tereasa....
3. "Everything I Make Sucks" Phase. Self-explanitory.
Mhm, yup. Kinda over it now, however i get the feeling of that.
4. The Matieralistic Art Phase. When you find yourself going into art stores and looking up art tablets and wishing you had the money even though you might not need them.
Yeah... I am probably in this stage at the moment. Probably why most of my Christmas money is gone.
5. The Serious Artist Phase. Pretty much pretending to like stuff like impressionism.
Since this is the last phase, i am not sure if this is false or i just havent gone through it yet, however i prefer manga and anime. I do do semi realism as well because it helps me and i want to know more than one art style, however i dont think that is the same things
