I have a researching project in English, and I have to pick someone famous and influential. I am doing Ariel Bloomer. I don't care for mainstream famous people, so I decided to do someone still known, but just not mainstream. She is influential tho, and I can use her book, Turn Your Pain Into Art, as an example of that.

I'm looking at art colleges for the future, trying to find some good ones with higher acceptance rates. WHY ARE ALL OF THE GOOD SCHOOLS EXPENSIVE! One, which is Ivy League, is Yale since they do have some good art programs, however, the tuition is $55,000 (for those who don't use USD, A LOT OF MONEY), and the acceptance rate is like, 8%. Another I was looking at that I really like is the Maryland Institute College of Art, which has a 67% acceptance rate, however, $50,000! I'm poor, I ain't got that much money. I'll still probably try to get into them tho. I don't want an online school or a super cheap crappy one, or one that will put me in debt for the rest of my life, so I'm still looking. I have another 4 years, but still. I'm also looking at where these colleges are. I don't want any college in NYC or Chicago or any major city like that. For several reasons. 1. Too many people. 2. So many people I had to list this twice. 3. Do y'all know how expensive things are in places like NYC? 4. Traffic. 5. I just don't like big cities, I don't like farms or country either, I prefer somewhere in the middle like a town or... bigger town.

ammyk Smart that you're thinking about future debts. Maybe try seeing if there are any cheaper art classes with good teachers, who could possibly recommend you to the school? My sister took baking classes at our Tech Center and got part of her tuition paid for because her instructor recommended her. I don't know if they have similar things in the art world, but whatever.
CoralSophie08 You could always apply for a scholarship. Your art is amazing. Even if it isn't a full scholarship, it's still a start. Try looking into the scholarships they offer.
lunamoonlight Thanks yall. I am prioritizing how good the school is, then the location, then the acceptance rate, then the cost of all of it. Yale and MICA are good schools... just hecka expensivd

lunamoonlight I don't have anyone who I could ask to recommend me, my school art teacher is a babysitter and doesn't do her job, ya know, /teaching/. I'll look into scholarships. However, I don't think any good college will look twice for some average poor girl from Iowa wanting to be an artist lol. No one comes from Iowa, especially a small town. Maybe a band or two, but even Stone Sour is from Des Moines, which ain't that great of a place tbh.
